Jammy Dodger, Bourbon and Iced Gems by Alison Day
British biscuits remembered from childhood. In the summers we would often swim at my brother’s elementary school, the Dragon, Oxford. On the cycle ride back home, ravenous with hunger from the exertion, we would stop off at a local supermarket and buy a snack – a bag of iced gems, a small packet filled with delightful little biscuits. Each one had a biscuit base and was topped off with a brightly coloured, piped, hard icing shape.
